Riot Games Starts Recording Voice Chat On Valorant

Riot Games announced in a new announcement that they will start recording players ‘ voice chats on Valorant.

The status of receiving and storing records was ensured by the New Legal Regulation, which all players had to agree to. One of the biggest problems of multiplayer games is toxic players. A game that you enter to spend good hours can make you nervous with what a person expresses in written or oral form. At the very beginning of the games we see this situation, of course, comes competitive games where everyone is sweating and stressed out to win.

Riot Games, which serves millions of players with its competitive games, finally took action to prevent this situation. In its shared announcement, the company mentioned some important changes to the Privacy Statement and Terms of use that will apply. These changes were made to record players ‘ voice chats, thus avoiding toxic players.

Voice chat will be recorded in valorant

Riot stated that they knew that disturbing behavior in voice chat was a problem for many players, and they decided to approach the issue more effectively. The most important step in this effective approach was to decide what players who ‘harass others, use hate speech, or use voice chat to disrupt your experience in some way’ were saying by recording the conversation.

Riot will start recording only the voice chat in Valorant right now. The Riot team will listen to the recordings when a player reports another player to Riot for disturbing behavior. Then, if anything is detected that breaks the rules, the necessary actions will be taken, and the audio recording will be deleted when it is no longer needed.

Accepting Riot Games ‘ new Privacy Statement will be mandatory for all players. This document will legally pave the way for Riot to listen to audio recordings in League of Legends, Wild Rift and Teamfight tactics besides VALORANT. But the company has no such plans for those games for now. The company answered some important questions that stuck in the players ‘ heads as follows::

What about data privacy?

In his answer to this question, Riot said that when it collects data, they will be transparent, store it only for as long as necessary, and protect the data as if it were their own data. The company cited the option to disable voice chat for those who still don’t want to give your data away. So as long as you use voice chat, your voice will be recorded.
