Simple key controls make it easy for both new players and experienced professionals to play the game. It’s very simple to aim, choose your strike power and send the ball into the air. Players can bend their shots to avoid danger and distort the ball to affect how it rolls after landing. Several features are available to help players conquer the pitch, including a shot gauge that adapts to the angle of the slope and a scan that allows you to read the terrain. In addition, it is possible to use motion controls by holding a Joy-Con controller like a golf club.

Players can choose from 16 Mushroom Kingdom characters, each with different powers and equipped with their own unique special moves. Pauline, Chargin’ Chuck and King Bob-omb will make her first appearance in the series. Players can go to the golf course with up to three players, both local and online, in various modes. Each round of golf is different, with six luxury course options to choose from, including standard courses and courses with special hazards. Free updates to the game with additional pitches and playable characters will be released in the future.
